Arts Community Celebration

The arts are alive in Clifton Forge! Join us in Clifton Forge for an Arts Community Celebration September 14-17, 2023. Demonstrations and performances happen daily, with additional ongoing exhibits available during each location’s open hours. Here at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center we have many demonstrations and an exquisite exhibit in our gallery to look forward to! New to the Arts Community Celebration is the Art Market! A selection of art vendors will be stationed on Commercial Street. All demonstrations and exhibits are free of charge. Below is a schedule of activities held at Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center during the Arts Community Celebration:
“From Realism to Abstraction” by Lori McMahon will be in the Gallery throughout the entire event.
Thursday, September 14th: We have two demonstration opportunities. Artisan Soap making is at 11am with Debrena Gordon. At 12:30 Buddy Carter will be hosting a wreath making demonstration with live and artificial fall foliage. 
Friday, September 15th: Sabrina Burks will be drawing cartoon portraits outside of the center from 11 to 4pm. Painting Fall Décor with Nancy smith will start at 11am. Frankie Denton will be hosting at Canvas Stretching demonstration from 2-4pm.
Saturday, September 16th: Cartoon portraits from 11 to 4pm by Sabrina Burks. “The Art of Telling Your Story, by Telling Your Own” is at 12:30 with Joan Vannorsdoll and Chuck Almarez. At 3pm Precious Metal Clay will be demonstrated by Mar Jimenez.
Sunday, September 17th: The last day of ACC. Cartoon Portraits will be from 11 to 4pm. Pam Hirt is hosting a Barn Quilt painting demo at 2pm.
