Opened in June 1936, Douthat was one of Virginia’s original state parks and stands as a lasting testament to the CCC.

This special anniversary event will take visitors back to the 1930s to experience a day in the life of the CCC. Guests will learn about the three camps that built the park, explore what camp life was like, and discover how their craftsmanship shaped Douthat’s trails, cabins, and lake.
