Step Back in Time History Walk

August 15 @ 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Ever wondered what stories Douthat State Park holds? Join us for a scenic stroll along the lake as we uncover the park’s fascinating past. Much of Douthat looks just as it did when it first opened in 1936, making this walk feel like a true journey through time.

Along the way, you’ll learn how the park got its name, discover the lasting legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) who built it, and see historic structures that have stood for nearly a century. From picnic shelters with unique names to hidden details in the landscape, every stop has a story to tell.

Please meet at Camp Malone Picnic Shelter. This walk is approximately 0.4 miles on uneven terrain.
