The Clifton Forge Fire Department, 701 Church Street, and the Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1610 Hickory Avenue, will be open as cooling stations from Tuesday, June 30 through Saturday, July 4, 2026, due to the forecasted extreme heat.
These stations are open for anyone who needs relief from the heat. The stations are not solely for the Town of Clifton Forge residents. “I strongly encourage anyone who lives inside or outside of the Town of Clifton Forge, whether it be Bath, Botetourt, Craig, or Rockbridge Counties, to come to either of these locations for relief from heat.”
If anyone needs assistance getting to one of these locations, contact the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office at 540-965-1770 ext. 0.
