Last night, the Town of Clifton Forge proudly unveiled its new community brand—marking a major milestone in a community-driven effort to define and elevate the town’s identity. This transformative project was funded by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) through the Virginia Main Street Community Vitality Grant, awarded to Clifton Forge Main Street to support initiatives that strengthen economic positioning, promote tourism, and enhance civic pride.
Residents participated in community gatherings and roundtable discussions, sharing what they love most about Clifton Forge—from its rich railroad heritage and thriving arts scene to its welcoming spirit and abundant parks and trails. Their feedback helped shape a unified concept that reflects the essence of the community while positioning Clifton Forge for the future.
The Town engaged Arnett Muldrow & Associates, nationally recognized branding experts, to guide this process. Their team listened closely to community input, explored the town firsthand, and translated those insights into a brand that captures the spark and positive momentum of Clifton Forge. The result is a comprehensive brand system that honors our past while presenting a modernized and forward-looking image for the community.
Importantly, this effort goes far beyond a single logo. The new brand system provides a flexible framework that can be used by local organizations, events, and initiatives—helping create a consistent message for residents and visitors alike and serving as a strategic tool for economic growth.
The full brand system is available in an open-source format on the Town of Clifton Forge’s website under “Documents” and on the Department of Planning & Community Development page. While incorporating the new brand across town will be an ongoing process, implementation has already begun, signaling an exciting new chapter for Clifton Forge.
The Town extends its sincere appreciation to DHCD, Virginia Main Street, Clifton Forge Main Street, Town Council, project partners, and—most importantly—the residents whose voices shaped this initiative. Together, we are forging a brand that reflects who we are and where we are going.
