JOB OPENINGS

EXPERIENCED SKILLED LABORER

The Town of Clifton Forge is looking for an experienced skilled laborer to fill a recent opening in our Public Works Department.  The successful applicant will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Public Works related activities.  The qualified candidate should be skilled in the use of all job related tools. A Class B CDL is desirable, backhoe, and track excavator experience is a plus. The work is physical in nature and will include heavy lifting.  This is an outdoor position.  Candidates must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE

The Town of Clifton Forge is looking for a Resident Project Representative to fill a temporary position not to exceed 12 months, in our Public Works Department. Details and job description can be picked up at the Public Works Department, 520 Howard St., Clifton Forge. This is an outdoor position.  Candidates must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License. Will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

TOWN OF CLIFTON FORGE, VA

The Town of Clifton Forge seeks an energetic, creative, and skilled professional to serve as Community Development Director.  This position is a management level position in which the candidate will be responsible for planning, zoning and community development activities, as well as serve as staff to the ARB (Architectural Review Board), Planning Commission, Parks and Trails Committee, and CDBG grant activities.  The candidate will supervise one inspector in code enforcement.

A qualified candidate must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning or a related field, a minimum of five (5) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience in planning, zoning and community development.  Prior experience in municipal government is desirable.

ATTENTION CONTRACTORS

Town of Clifton Forge is seeking Class A or B contractors to participate in the Lower Roxbury revitalization project through DHCD.  Pre-qualification applications are available in the Community Development Office at Clifton Forge Town Hall.


POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Clifton Forge is establishing a pool of applicants to fill a possible future vacancy.

Interested applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED and a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record, be at least 21 years of age with good physical and moral character and be able to complete  Basic Police Training.  College level education in Criminal Justice, Police Administration, or related field, or experience in law enforcement is preferable.

An oral interview, extensive background investigation and extensive physical medical exam are components of the selection process.
